Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Account Executive with knowledge of Import and Export transactions to manage accounting activities, statutory compliance, and documentation related to international trade. The candidate will be responsible for handling accounting entries, foreign transactions, import-export documentation, banking transactions, and coordination with customs, logistics, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Maintain day-to-day accounting records and books of accounts.
- Prepare and record journal entries, invoices, debit notes, credit notes, and payment vouchers.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, and customer accounts.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Prepare MIS reports and financial statements as required.
Import & Export Accounting
- Account for import purchases, export sales, freight charges, customs duties, clearing charges, and other related expenses.
- Verify and process import/export invoices and supporting documents.
- Maintain records of Letter of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees, and foreign remittances.
- Handle accounting of foreign currency transactions and exchange rate fluctuations.
- Monitor export incentives, duty drawbacks, and other government benefits.
- Ensure compliance with FEMA, RBI, GST, and other applicable regulations.
Documentation & Compliance
- Review and maintain import-export documentation including:
- Commercial Invoice
- Packing List
- Bill of Lading (BL)
- Airway Bill (AWB)
- Bill of Entry
- Shipping Bill
- Certificate of Origin
- Letter of Credit (LC)
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, banks, and government authorities.
- Support GST filing related to imports and exports.
- Assist during internal and statutory audits.
Coordination
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, sales, and production departments.
- Liaise with banks for foreign inward and outward remittances.
- Follow up with customers and vendors regarding payments and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- M.Com, MBA Finance, or professional certification will be an added advantage.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting with exposure to Import & Export operations.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, FEMA, and foreign trade regulations.
- Familiarity with DGFT procedures and export-import documentation.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Tally ERP/Tally Prime, SAP, ERP Systems, or accounting software.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of foreign currency accounting and banking transactions.
- Knowledge of GST compliance for import and export transactions.
