Role Overview
The Area Sales Officer will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing distributor and retailer networks, and ensuring superior execution of sales plans within the assigned territory. This role demands proactive field engagement and effective team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly sales targets by managing both primary and secondary sales
- Appoint, develop, and manage distributors and retail outlets in the territory
- Conduct regular market visits to ensure product availability, visibility, and compliance
- Plan and implement effective sales routes and beats to maximize reach
- Coordinate and support promotional activities and product launches
- Provide coaching and guidance to Sales Representatives to enhance their performance
- Monitor stock levels, collections, and trade compliance
- Report sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to management
Candidate Profile
- 2–5 years of experience in FMCG sales with strong knowledge of distribution channels
- Proven ability to manage sales operations and build channel partnerships
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Result-oriented with a hands-on approach to fieldwork
- Proficient in basic Excel and sales reporting tools
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area
