Position: QC Engineer

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced QC Engineer to manage Quality Control activities and laboratory operations in a heavy fabrication environment.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality through inspection, testing, documentation, and compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and quality management systems.
The role involves managing QC laboratory testing, welding quality inspections, material verification, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
● Manage and supervise all Quality Control and QC Laboratory activities.
● Conduct incoming material inspections and verify material test certificates (MTCs).
● Ensure dimensional inspections of fabricated components and assemblies as per approved drawings and specifications.
● Monitor welding quality and ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR, and welding standards.
● Coordinate and review Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities such as UT, RT, PT, and MT.
● Perform and oversee mechanical and metallurgical testing as required.
● Maintain calibration records and ensure proper functioning of measuring and testing equipment.
● Prepare and review quality documents, inspection reports, test certificates, and final quality dossiers.
● Conduct stage-wise and final inspections before dispatch.
● Handle customer inspections and coordinate with third-party inspection agencies.
● Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
● Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and customer quality standards.
● Work closely with Production, Design, Procurement, and Project teams to resolve quality-related concerns.
● Maintain laboratory safety, housekeeping, and testing records.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline.
● Certification in NDT (Level II) will be an added advantage.
● Knowledge of welding inspection standards and fabrication quality requirements.
Experience
● 3–8 years of experience in Quality Control within Heavy Fabrication, Structural Steel, Pressure Vessels, Process Equipment, or Engineering Manufacturing industries.
● Hands-on experience in managing QC laboratory testing and inspection activities.
● Experience handling customer inspections and quality documentation.
Technical Skills
● Knowledge of fabrication drawings, GD&T, and dimensional inspection techniques.
● Familiarity with welding processes, welding inspection, and related quality standards.
● Understanding of NDT methods (UT, RT, PT, MT).
● Knowledge of material testing, hardness testing, and metallurgical evaluations.
● Experience with measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, and other precision instruments.
● Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
● Proficiency in MS Office and quality reporting tools.

Preferred Candidate Profile: Candidate should have experience in heavy fabrication industries involving structural fabrication, pressure vessels, process equipment, heavy engineering components, or similar manufacturing environments.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
