Valummel Group is seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Accountant to oversee the accounts of all firms operating under the Group.
The Group has diversified business interests across Jewellery, Ginger Trading, Education, Construction, Mining, and other sectors. Based at the parent company’s office in Sulthan Bathery, the successful candidate will maintain accurate financial records, consolidate accounts, ensure statutory compliance, and provide management with timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounting activities of all firms under Valummel Group.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts, ledgers, journals, and supporting documents.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Consolidate financial information from the Group’s different business divisions.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow.
- Ensure timely filing and compliance relating to GST, TDS, income tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government authorities when required.
- Prepare budgets, financial reports, MIS reports, and variance analyses for management.
- Monitor intercompany transactions and reconcile balances among Group firms.
- Strengthen accounting procedures and internal financial controls.
- Support management with financial planning and business decision-making.
- Guide and supervise junior accounting staff, where applicable.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; CA Intermediate-qualified candidates with extensive practical experience in accounting are also encouraged to apply.
- Professional certification is an advantage but is not mandatory for candidates with strong and relevant experience.
- Proven experience in a senior accounting or similar finance role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
- Experience handling accounts for multiple companies, business units, or sectors is preferred.
- Proficiency in Tally and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other accounting or ERP software is an advantage.
- Ability to prepare and analyse financial statements and management reports.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational ability, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information.
- Good communication and team-management skills.
Compensation
₹30,000–₹40,000 per month, depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and suitability for the role.
Work Location
This is an office-based position at the parent company of Valummel Group in Sulthan Bathery, Kerala.
