About the role:
The Senior Team Leader role exists to manage and supervise the team responsible for the delivery of services related to Supply Chain.
The Senior Team Leader will manage a team of Supply Chain leads / team members managing Demand Execution and Demand Control; DRP planning , managing the production planning processes for items manufactured by BP plants or Third parties and managing analytical support to supply chain ensuring we have the right products, at the right time and in the right place to meet customer demand and inventory targets across the performance unit. This person will be responsible for delivering key KPI’s like inventory , working capital and service.
The Senior Chain Team Leader is also the focal/ critical issue point for our 4PL and 3PL logistics partners, production plants, Sales and Demand working together with them on improvements and holding them accountable for providing the most effective solutions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Functional:
Lead and review operational performance for the team regularly against the defined objectives (Service Level agreements, processes, policies) and plan corrective actions accordingly to ensure the organizations timely delivery of:
Demand Execution and Control
Production and 3rd Party Planning services
Planning Master data and NPI analytics processes
Import / Export activities, primary and secondary distribution
Lead and/or support external/internal audits, identify and control risk and drive incident investigations.
Ensure adherence and compliance with the Code of Conduct, BP Policies and ISO standards across the Demand Management organization.
Provide relevant support and collaborate with internal and external partners (Third parties) and customers as the need arises to resolve issues and queries, manage the operational relationship with the Supply Chain function
On addition to above technical requirements the person also needs to :
Service Management & Continuous Improvement:
Run and analyse relevant reports, review the operational performance of the team on a regular basis to ensure performance as per agreed service levels, key management metrics and goals and plan corrective action accordingly.
Plan, develop and monitor implementation of quality and process improvement by employing technology, continuous improvement initiatives, best practices and data-driven management. Track progress and suggest recommendations for improvement as required
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal partners and external stakeholders at relevant levels.
Drive cross functional collaboration and identify, resolve and develop solutions for complex, raised and systemic operational problems to always ensure consistent and high-quality Supply Chain Services.
Leadership & Supervisory
Set goals and clarify expectations, provide regular feedback and conduct performance appraisals, reward and discipline employees.
Coach team members to address process gaps, identify inefficiencies and help to embed a continuous improvement culture in the organisation, support long term career development of key talents.
Provide opportunities for learning and self-development to build capability of the team and ensure competency in performing Tower activities
Identify training opportunities focused on building capability of the team.
Support Tower Leadership in developing a high-performance culture promoting continuous learning and focusing on meeting / exceeding customer needs / expectations.
Support Tower Leadership in driving the implementation and development of the GSC organization locally
Resource Management
Perform FTE sizing, plan and assign work to team members, monitor adherence to workforce schedules and highlight gaps.
Education & experience
Educated to Degree level or equivalent. With 10-15 years operational experience in supply Planning / supply chain is required, Needs to have excellent understanding of planning process and deliverables and good understanding of End to end understanding of supply chain process.
Experience in supply chain planning and extensive knowledge of S&OP/ SO&E
Deep functional knowledge, expertise and experience in detailed supply chain processes & policies
Highly analytical, numerate with a strong attention to detail
Able to work well under sustained pressure with conflicting demands, optimizing resources and responding to fast changing circumstances.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a people leadership role
Experience of working with a diverse team across different geographies
Knowledge and use of SAP and Kinaxis Rapid Response
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERTISE
Excellent written/oral communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships on multiple levels of the organisation.
Strong people management skills that facilitate others to play to their strengths.
Strong performance management skills with experience of managing both quantitative and qualitative targets and a track record of achieving goals.
Strong time management and organisation skills, able to prioritise and handle urgent issues and customer concerns.
Highly motivated and ambitious to deliver value to end customers and business both operationally and financially
Strong commercial competence.
Strong impact, interpersonal, influence and communication skills with proven capability and potential to make a meaningful contribution to the business.
