Role Summary
The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive techno-commercial proposals for automation projects and control panels including PLC Panels, MCC, PCC, and Distribution Panels. The role involves understanding client requirements, preparing BOQs, costing, and supporting the business team in closing projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Costing
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for:
- MCC / PCC Panels
- Distribution Panels
- PLC Panels
- VFD Panels
- Automation Projects (PLC, SCADA, VFD systems)
- Develop Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on client requirements and drawings
- Identify components, quantities, and specifications
2. Techno-Commercial Proposals
- Prepare and submit:
- Quotations
- Technical proposals
- Compliance documents
- Ensure proposals are:
- Accurate
- Competitive
- Aligned with company standards
3. Technical Understanding
- Interpret:
- Electrical drawings
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- P&ID diagrams
- Coordinate with:
- Technical Head (for validation)
- Business Head (for pricing strategy)
- Internal Purchase Team
4. Vendor & Cost Management
- Coordinate with vendors for:
- Component pricing
- Lead times
- Maintain cost database for:
- Panels
- Automation components
5. Internal Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Sales / Business team
- Engineering team
- Support in:
- Pre-sales discussions
- Clarifications with clients
6. Documentation & Tracking
- Maintain:
- Quote records
- Revision history
- Track:
- Quote vs order conversion
- Actual cost vs Estimated Cost & reason of difference
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Control Panels (PLC, MCC, PCC, DB)
- Electrical Concepts & Knowledge of PLC, Starters etc
- Electrical components (switchgear, drives, PLCs, etc.)
- Ability to read:
- Electrical schematics
- P&ID diagrams
- Understanding of:
- Automation systems (PLC, SCADA, VFD)
- Good analytical and costing skills
- Strong communication and coordination ability
Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor’s in Electrical / Electronics Engineering
- 2–6 years of experience in:
- Estimation / Proposal engineering
- Control panel or automation industry

Job Details

- Travel: Limited (as required for client discussions)
- Salary Range: ₹2.4 Lakhs – ₹6 Lakhs per annum (based on experience)
Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
