We are seeking a motivated and talented Android Developer with 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining high-performance native Android applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build advanced, high-quality applications and features for the Android platform using Kotlin and Java.
- Collaborate on maintaining existing codebases, identifying and fixing bugs, eliminating bottlenecks, and optimizing application performance.
- Translate design wireframes and prototypes into crisp, responsive, and high-quality UI using Material Design guidelines.
- Connect and integrate applications with backend services via RESTful APIs and JSON parsing.
- Write clean, readable, and maintainable code. Conduct unit testing for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
- Assist with preparing, configuring, and publishing application updates to the Google Play Store via the Google Play Console.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin (coroutines, extension functions) and a solid grasp of Java (OOP concepts, multithreading).
- Core understanding of the Android SDK, different versions of Android, and handling varied screen sizes/densities.
- Hands-on experience or clear understanding of modern mobile architectures, primarily MVVM.
- Familiarity with Android Jetpack components such as ViewModel, LiveData, Room DB, Navigation component, and Data Binding.
- Experience working with remote data via libraries like Retrofit or OkHttp, and offline local storage using Room or SQLite.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, specifically Git.
Qualifications & Soft Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 1–3 years of professional experience in native Android app development.
- Sharp analytical skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and debugging application crashes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a team-first mindset.
- Eagerness to learn new mobile technologies, guidelines, and best practices as the Android ecosystem evolves.
