Job Summary
The Senior Production Manager will lead and oversee end-to-end production operations across the company’s manufacturing facilities. The role is responsible for ensuring efficient production planning, optimal resource utilization, quality compliance, manpower management, cost control, and timely achievement of production targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership capabilities, extensive manufacturing experience, and a proven track record of driving productivity improvements in the FMCG, beverage, or packaged drinking water industry.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets established by Management.
- Monitor production efficiency, machine utilization, and plant performance.
- Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, raw materials, and utilities.
- Coordinate production activities across multiple manufacturing units, as required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational losses.
- Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently while maintaining product quality.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and supervise Production Managers, Supervisors, Operators, Technicians, and production personnel.
- Allocate manpower effectively across shifts and production lines.
- Conduct regular training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene, and safety.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor employee performance and recommend development initiatives.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with FSSAI, BIS, ISO, and all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Coordinate closely with the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams to ensure product consistency.
- Support internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Ensure all production documentation and records are accurately maintained.
Maintenance & Operational Excellence
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities with the Maintenance Department.
- Minimize machine downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Ensure efficient utilization of electricity, water, diesel, compressed air, and other utilities.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
Inventory & Production Planning
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores to ensure uninterrupted availability of production materials, including preforms, caps, labels, packaging materials, chemicals, and other consumables.
- Prevent production delays caused by material shortages.
- Coordinate with Dispatch and Sales teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports and MIS.
- Analyse production performance and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor production costs, wastage, efficiency, and labour productivity.
- Support Management in capacity expansion, new projects, and operational improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- Additional qualifications in Production Management or Operations Management will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in manufacturing, FMCG, beverage, or packaged drinking water industries.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a senior production leadership role.
- Experience managing high-volume production operations is essential.
- Experience handling multiple manufacturing units will be an added advantage.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary shall be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and prevailing industry standards.
- In addition to the fixed salary, the Senior Production Manager will be eligible for performance-based production incentives upon achieving the production targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the Management.
- The incentive structure, eligibility criteria, performance parameters, and payout shall be determined solely by the Management and may be revised from time to time based on business requirements and Company policy.
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
