Position Overview
Woodstock Resorts is seeking a detailed, hands-on, and energetic Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our day-to-day housekeeping operations. Nestled in the serene hills of Madikeri, our resort delivers warm hospitality and high standards of cleanliness for our guests.
As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will ensure our villas, guest rooms, public areas, spa facilities, and resort grounds consistently meet hygiene, safety, and aesthetic standards. You will lead, train, and inspire the housekeeping staff while inspecting rooms and coordinating closely with the Front Office and Maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations & Quality Control
Inspect guest rooms, villas, public spaces, pathways, swimming pool areas, and back-of-house areas daily to ensure immaculate cleanliness.
Verify that guest amenities, turn-down services, linens, and bath supplies strictly adhere to resort standards.
Perform routine checks on resort laundry, linen inventories, and room fixtures to report damage, wear, or missing items.
Ensure quick room turnaround times to support smooth guest check-ins and check-outs.
2. Staff Leadership & Shift Management
Prepare daily room assignments and task checklists for room attendants and public area cleaners.
Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate daily occupancy, special guest requests, VIP arrivals, or resort events.
Provide ongoing, hands-on training to room attendants on chemical safety, bed-making techniques, eco-friendly waste management, and equipment usage.
Monitor staff attendance, grooming standards, punctuality, and overall productivity.
3. Inter-Departmental Coordination
Coordinate closely with the Front Desk regarding vacant/dirty room status, priority rush rooms, early check-ins, and late check-outs.
Log and follow up on work orders with the Maintenance / Engineering team for room repairs, geyser checks, plumbing, or lighting issues.
Handle guest requests, complaints, and extra amenity deliveries promptly with a warm, service-oriented attitude.
4. Inventory, Linen, & Chemical Management
Conduct weekly and monthly physical stock counts for linens, towels, room amenities, cleaning chemicals, and guest supplies.
Monitor the usage of eco-friendly chemicals and proper dosage to avoid waste and manage operational costs.
Manage lost-and-found items in compliance with resort security and logging procedures.
5. Safety, Hygiene, & Resort Grounds
Maintain resort safety guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and hygiene protocols throughout the property.
Coordinate exterior cleaning (pathways, garden seating, deck areas) suited to Madikeri’s local weather conditions (rainy season prep, mist/humidity management).
Required Candidate Profile
Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of experience in housekeeping operations within hotels or resorts, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior room attendant role.
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management / Hospitality (preferred). High school diploma with relevant resort experience accepted.
Language Skills: Proficiency in Kannada and English is strongly preferred to communicate effectively with both local staff and resort guests. Knowledge of Hindi, Malayalam, or Tamil is a plus.
Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, WhatsApp business groups, or Hotel PMS software) to update room statuses and log maintenance tasks.
