Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Professor in the Department of English to provide academic leadership in teaching, research, curriculum development, and institutional activities. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background, an excellent record of research and publications, and a passion for mentoring students and faculty while contributing to the overall growth of the institution.
Essential Qualification
- Master's Degree (M.A. English) with a consistently good academic record.
- Must satisfy the eligibility criteria as prescribed by UGC/AICTE (where applicable) and the affiliating university.
Experience
- Minimum experience as prescribed by UGC/AICTE for the post of Professor.
- Proven experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate English courses.
- Strong research profile with publications in reputed peer-reviewed and indexed journals.
- Experience in guiding M.Phil. (where applicable) and Ph.D. scholars.
- Administrative and academic leadership experience is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English Language and Literature.
- Develop and update curriculum in accordance with university and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputed national and international journals.
- Guide postgraduate dissertations and doctoral research.
- Mentor students in academic, literary, and professional development.
- Organize seminars, conferences, workshops, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), and literary events.
- Promote research, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning.
- Participate in curriculum design, examination duties, assessment, and evaluation.
- Contribute to accreditation and quality assurance initiatives such as NAAC and institutional rankings.
- Undertake departmental administrative responsibilities and committee work.
- Foster collaborations with academic institutions and professional organizations.
- Encourage students to participate in literary clubs, debates, creative writing, and cultural activities.
