Job Summary:
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for supervising nursing staff, ensuring quality patient care, maintaining nursing standards, and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the nursing department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff across shifts.
- Prepare and manage nursing duty rosters and staff allocation.
- Ensure proper patient care and adherence to nursing protocols.
- Monitor medication administration, documentation, and nursing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards.
- Conduct regular rounds and monitor nursing services in wards and departments.
- Coordinate with doctors and other departments regarding patient care.
- Address patient and bystander concerns related to nursing services.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, discipline, and performance of nursing staff.
- Identify training needs and support staff development.
- Ensure proper maintenance of nursing records and reports.
- Monitor availability and proper use of nursing equipment and supplies.
- Handle emergency situations and ensure appropriate nursing support.
- Report nursing-related issues and departmental requirements to management.
- Ensure proper handover and communication between shifts.
- Maintain professional standards and confidentiality at all times.
- May be required to be on call and available to handle urgent nursing-related issues outside regular working hours.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM.
- Valid TCMC registration.
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably with supervisory experience.
