Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier Identification & Development
- Identify and develop new greige fabric suppliers (mills / weavers) across regions
- Conduct mill visits and audits to assess capacity, quality systems, and reliability
2. Sourcing & Procurement
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and minimum order quantities (MOQ)
- Source greige fabrics for constructions like plain, twill, dobby etc.
3. Demand Planning & Inventory
- Coordinate with production/planning team for monthly fabric requirements
- Maintain optimal greige fabric inventory , avoid overstocking and shortages
- Track fabric consumption versus purchase and flag variances
4. Quality Coordination
- Check with the QC/lab team to ensure greige fabric meets required GSM, thread count, width, shrinkage, and tensile standards
- Follow up on fabric approvals, lab dip clearances, and shade band submissions
- Handle rejections, claims, and replacement coordination with suppliers
5. Cost Management
- Benchmark greige fabric prices across suppliers and regions
- Monitor yarn price trends (cotton, polyester, viscose etc.) and their impact on greige cost
- Drive cost reduction through vendor negotiation and alternate sourcing
7. Market Intelligence
- Stay updated on greige market trends, yarn prices, and key supplier dynamics
- Identify alternative fabric constructions and new suppliers for cost and risk mitigation

Educational & Experience Requirements
- Graduate: B.Tech Textile Technology or equivalent
- 3–5 years of experience in greige fabric sourcing
- Strong network with mills in Surat, Silvassa, Bhiwandi or Ichalkaranji preferred
- Hands-on experience in fabric
