Role Summary
The IT Workspace Infrastructure Lead will head the business unit responsible for the end-to-end delivery of customer workspace infrastructure. This role drives the complete lifecycle—Design, Deployment, and Maintenance—of critical infrastructure components including power conditioning, active/passive networking, surveillance systems, collaboration spaces (meeting rooms), server rooms, and communication services.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, ensuring that customer workspaces are resilient, secure, scalable, and aligned with modern workplace standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Business Unit Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of infrastructure engineers (design, deployment, and maintenance tracks).
- Define team KPIs, resource allocation, and shift schedules to ensure 24/7 operational readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and team competencies.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for all workspace infrastructure-related customer issues.
2. End-to-End Infrastructure Lifecycle Management
A. Power Conditioning
- Design and oversee deployment of UPS systems, PDUs, power distribution panels, and surge protection for workspaces.
- Ensure redundancy and load balancing for critical IT equipment (servers, switches, collaboration endpoints).
- Implement power monitoring and alerting systems.
B. Network (Active & Passive)
- Active: Oversee LAN/WLAN architecture (switches, routers, access points, controllers). Ensure QoS for voice/video.
- Passive: Manage structured cabling (Cat6/6A/7, fiber optics), patch panels, cable trays, and labeling standards.
- Ensure compliance with TIA/EIA or local standards.
C. Surveillance Systems
- Lead deployment of IP-based CCTV systems, NVRs, door access controls, and video management software (VMS).
- Ensure coverage, retention policies, and integration with HR/security workflows.
D. Collaboration Services (Meeting Rooms)
- Design and maintain huddle rooms, standard meeting rooms, and boardrooms (AV over IP, wireless presentation, room scheduling panels).
- Manage Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or Google Meet hardware.
- Oversee firmware updates, device health monitoring, and user support.
E. Server Rooms (On-Prem / Edge)
- Plan layout, cooling (CRAC/in-row), rack elevation, cable management, and environmental monitoring (temp/humidity/leak).
- Coordinate with server/infra teams for access control and fire suppression.
F. Communication Services
- Manage voice (VoIP gateways, handsets, SIP trunks), intercom systems, emergency notification systems, and public address (PA).
- Ensure integration with collaboration platforms and mobile devices.
3. Project & Customer Delivery
- Lead customer requirement gathering sessions and translate them into technical designs, BOMs, and SLAs.
- Manage project timelines, vendor procurement, and on-site installation quality.
- Deliver operational handovers to maintenance teams with full documentation (as-built, runbooks, credentials).
4. Maintenance & Support
- Establish preventive maintenance schedules for all infrastructure components.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and implement permanent fixes.
- Manage spares inventory, warranty claims, and AMC renewals.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with 3+ years in a team lead or manager role.
- Proven track record of delivering customer-facing workspace infrastructure projects (office buildings, campuses, BPOs, etc.)
Technical Expertise (Must-Have)
- Power: UPS, battery technologies, grounding, power budget calculations.
- Network: Cisco/Meraki/Aruba/Ruckus (switching, routing, wireless). Understanding of structured cabling standards.
- Surveillance: Axis, Hikvision, Dahua, or similar. ONVIF compliance, night vision, storage sizing.
- Collaboration: Crestron, Logitech, Poly, Neat, or equivalent. Familiarity with MTR/ Zoom Rooms admin portals.
- Server Rooms: Rack density, cooling capacity (BTU/CFM), environmental monitoring (Sensaphone, AKCP).
- Communications: VoIP (3CX, Avaya, Asterisk, or Teams Calling), doorbell/IP intercoms.
Soft Skills
- Strong customer-facing consultation and presentation skills.
- Ability to create SLAs, SOWs, and technical proposals.
- Crisis management during site outages (power/cooling/network failures).
- Vendor and subcontractor management.
Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory)
- Power: BICSI, Schneider Electric UPS certification
- Network: CCNA, CCNP (Enterprise), or equivalent
- AV Collaboration: CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or Microsoft Teams Rooms certification
- Surveillance: Axis Certified Professional or Genetec certification
- General: ITIL Foundation (for service management), PMP (nice to have)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Project Delivery: On-time, within-budget completion rate (>95%)
- Infrastructure Uptime: Workspace infrastructure availability (target: 99.9%)
- Customer Satisfaction: CSAT scores for design, deployment, and maintenance
- Team Productivity: Response time to maintenance tickets, MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)
- Compliance: Zero major deviations from customer or regulatory standards (fire safety, electrical codes, data privacy for surveillance)
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
