An OT Technician, or Operating Theatre Technician, is a healthcare professional responsible for preparing and maintaining the operating theatre, assisting surgical teams, and ensuring patient safety during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the Operating Theatre: Lay out surgical instruments, sterilize equipment, and ensure all necessary supplies are available for procedures .
- Assist Surgical Teams: Provide instruments and support to surgeons, nurses, and anaesthetists during operations .
- Maintain Sterile Environment: Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections and ensure patient safety .
- Operate and Maintain Equipment: Handle anaesthesia machines, ventilators, C-ARM machines, and other surgical devices, ensuring they function correctly SlideShare.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Soft Skills: Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, teamwork, and effective communication .
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or surgical setting is advantageous but not always mandatory.
