Purpose of the Role
To effectively teach Science to students of Grades 6–9 in accordance with the CBSE curriculum, fostering scientific temper, inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and practical application of concepts while ensuring holistic student development.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons aligned with CBSE guidelines and learning outcomes.
- Prepare annual plans, unit plans, lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
- Conduct practical demonstrations, experiments, and laboratory activities safely and effectively.
- Use innovative teaching methodologies, technology integration, and experiential learning strategies.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Student Development
- Foster curiosity, scientific inquiry, and problem-solving skills among students.
- Encourage participation in science exhibitions, competitions, projects, and STEM activities.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Support students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design and conduct formative and summative assessments as per CBSE norms.
- Maintain accurate academic records, grades, and student portfolios.
- Analyze assessment data and implement remedial and enrichment plans.
Classroom & Laboratory Management
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of science laboratory resources.
- Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols.
- Maintain inventory records and report requirements for lab materials and equipment.
Parent & School Engagement
- Communicate student progress effectively during PTMs and parent interactions.
- Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership for academic excellence.
- Participate actively in school events, assemblies, educational trips, and co-curricular activities.
Professional Development
- Attend workshops, training programs, and professional development sessions.
- Stay updated with CBSE curriculum changes and best teaching practices.
- Contribute to curriculum enhancement and departmental initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Science (B.Sc.) with relevant subject specialization.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution (mandatory).
- Master's Degree in Science (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in a reputed CBSE/ICSE/international school.
- Experience teaching middle school students (Grades 6–9).
- Familiarity with CBSE assessment practices and competency-based education.

- Strong subject knowledge across Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science concepts at middle school level.
