Production Head – Manhole Cover Division (Foundry)
1. ROLE OVERVIEW Role Title Production Head – Foundry Operations (Ductile Iron Casting –) Company JPK Metallics Pvt. Ltd. Role Nature This is a core manufacturing leadership role, not a supervisory-only or reporting role. The candidate will: ● Lead complete foundry production operations & it’s team members ● Ensure output, quality, and efficiency targets & process control ● Manage shop floor manpower & machine utilization ● Oversee process control and optimization in casting & molding ● Maintain production discipline and safety compliance ● Coordinate with maintenance, quality & dispatch teams Primary Goal Ensure consistent production of high-quality ductile iron manhole covers with optimal cost, minimal rejection, and smooth workflow execution.
2. IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE Experience Required ● Minimum 8–10 years in foundry / casting industry ● Leadership experience in manhole cover production division ● Strong exposure to: ○ Ductile Iron (DI) Casting ○ Manhole cover production ○ Jolt squeeze moulding machines Mandatory Technical Exposure Candidate MUST have hands-on experience in: ● Ductile Iron casting process ● Sand preparation & usage (Green Sand & No-Bake) ● Molding processes ● Casting defect identification & correction ● 500/7 (SG Iron Grade) / ASTM standards etc. Avoid Candidates With ● Only theoretical knowledge ● Non-foundry manufacturing background ● Maintenance-only roles ● Pure quality inspection profiles Education ● Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgy preferred ● Practical exposure holds higher importance than degree Salary Benchmark (West Bengal) ₹60,000 – ₹90,000/month depending on: ● Experience ● Technical depth ● Leadership capability 3. CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED A. Production & Process Expertise Candidate must demonstrate: ● Good Knowledge of Ductile Iron ● Knowledge of: ○ Production Planning ○ Yield Analysis ○ Pouring techniques ○ Sand Parameters & Controlling them ○ Melting & treatment processes ○ Practical knowledge of methoding system in pattern ● Ability to perform defect analysis including: ○ Blow holes ○ Shrinkage ○ Cracks ○ Surface defects ○ Dimensional rejection ○ etc. ● Strong focus on process control and consistency B. Machine Handling & Optimization Candidate must be able to: ● Operate and optimize production lines effectively ● Improve: ○ Cycle time ○ Output efficiency ○ Machine uptime C. Sand & Molding Knowledge Must have strong knowledge of: ● Green sand composition ● No-bake sand systems ● Sand testing (moisture, permeability, strength) ● Molding defects & corrective actions D. Leadership & Shop Floor Control Candidate’s strong suits must include: ● Handling large workforce in labour-intensive environments ● Managing shift-based production systems ● Enforcing discipline and accountability on shop floor ● Taking quick, practical decisions under pressure ● Maintaining and controlling production processes consistently ● Handling & controlling team of production shift-incharge & supervisors ● Strong communication E. Coordinate & Work Effectively Candidate must: ● Coordinate & Work effectively with: ○ Melting team ○ Pattern team ○ Maintenance team ○ Quality control ○ Dispatch/logistics ● Ensure smooth production flow without bottlenecks F. Data & Reporting Candidate must: ● Track production metrics ● Analyze rejection trends ● Maintain daily MIS reports ● Plan and monitor production schedules ● Co-ordinate with clients if need be
