Litigation, Real Estate & Legal Coordination
Location: Mumbai / Thane

Role
We are looking for a proactive and well-organised In-House Legal Executive / Legal Assistant to handle the day-to-day legal work of the company and coordinate with external advocates, consultants, courts and government authorities.
The person will be responsible for ensuring that all legal matters, notices, replies, hearings, documents and case updates are properly tracked and followed up.
Key Responsibilities
1. Legal Drafting & Correspondence
- Draft replies to legal notices, complaints, letters and communications.
- Prepare notices, letters, applications, representations and basic legal correspondence.
- Assist senior management and external advocates in preparing replies, affidavits, written submissions and other legal documents.
- Review documents and correspondence before sending them to advocates or authorities.
- Maintain proper records of all notices received and replies issued.
2. Court & Litigation Coordination
- Maintain a complete Litigation / Case Tracker for all company matters.
- Track hearing dates, next dates, case status, orders and important deadlines.
- Visit courts/tribunals whenever required for hearings and follow-ups.
- Attend hearings along with or in coordination with the company's advocates.
- Obtain hearing updates from advocates and prepare a same-day hearing report for management.
- Obtain copies of orders, judgments, applications and other court documents.
- Ensure that directions/orders passed by courts are communicated internally and followed up.
Case tracking, maintaining case records, recording hearing outcomes and coordinating with counsel are standard legal-operations responsibilities.
3. Coordination with External Legal Team
- Act as the primary coordination point between the company and external advocates.
- Provide advocates with required documents, facts, correspondence and project information.
- Follow up with advocates for drafts, filings, hearing preparation and orders.
- Maintain advocate-wise records of pending matters.
- Track legal fees and bills and coordinate with Accounts for processing.
- Ensure no legal matter remains unattended due to lack of follow-up.
4. Real Estate / Redevelopment Legal Work
- Assist in matters relating to real estate projects and redevelopment projects.
- Coordinate documentation relating to societies, members, tenants and developers.
- Assist with SRA, RERA, municipal, revenue and other authority-related legal matters.
- Maintain project-wise legal documentation.
- Assist in agreements, undertakings, indemnities, consent letters, possession-related documents and other project documentation.
- Coordinate with consultants and advocates for title, development and project-related legal matters.
5. Legal MIS & Tracking
Maintain an updated master tracker containing:
- Case number / CNR number
- Court / authority
- Parties
- Advocate handling the matter
- Nature of dispute
- Current status
- Last hearing date
- Next hearing date
- Orders passed
- Pending documents
- Action required
- Person responsible
- Deadline
- Legal expenses / advocate fees
Prepare weekly legal status reports for management.
6. Government / Authority Follow-up
- Coordinate with BMC, TMC, SRA, MHADA, MahaRERA, Sub-Registrar and other authorities as required.
- Maintain records of notices, replies, applications and correspondence.
- Follow up for pending applications and legal/compliance matters.
- Coordinate with the company's liaison and project teams where legal intervention is required.
Candidate Profile
The candidate should have:
- LLB qualification.
- 2–5 years of practical experience.
- Preferably experience in real estate / redevelopment litigation.
- Good knowledge of civil litigation and court procedures.
- Basic understanding of RERA, property law, redevelopment and society matters.
- Strong drafting skills in English.
- Good communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to independently visit courts and authorities.
- Excellent MS Word and Excel skills.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping ability.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with senior advocates and external legal teams.
- Marathi/Hindi communication would be an advantage.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
