Company Overview
Fintelius Engineering Private Limited is a premium industrial process equipment manufacturer based in Ahmedabad, India. We specialize in advanced thermal design, mechanical engineering, and precision fabrication of high-efficiency heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and large-scale moisture separation systems. We are seeking a highly capable Mechanical Engineer to rotate, support, or specialize across our core engineering departments: Cost Estimation, Design, Quality Assurance, and Production.
Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between engineering concepts and shop-floor execution. Depending on your core strengths and company requirements, you will handle tasks ranging from pre-order cost estimation and rigorous mechanical design verification to raw material quality inspection and production scheduling. The ideal candidate is a technically sharp, adaptive professional who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment and understands international engineering codes.
Key Responsibilities by Department
1. Cost Estimation
- Analyze client inquiries, technical specifications, and engineering drawings to prepare accurate, competitive techno-commercial bids.
- Calculate exact material take-offs (MTO) for plates, pipes, tubes, forgings, and consumables.
- Coordinate with procurement and external vendors to obtain current market pricing for raw materials and specialized hardware.
2. Mechanical Design
- Perform mechanical design calculations for shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and moisture separation systems.
- Utilize industry-standard design software (such as PV Elite) and strictly apply international codes including ASME Section VIII, TEMA, and API standards.
- Generate or review detailed 2D/3D fabrication drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
3. Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)
- Conduct stage-wise and final visual inspections of fabricated components to ensure total compliance with approved drawings.
- Review and verify raw material test certificates (MTRs) and ensure proper material traceability on the shop floor.
- Coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) such as radiography, ultrasonic, or dye-penetrant testing, and witness hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure tests.
4. Production & Shop-Floor Coordination
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking daily fabrication activities to ensure on-time project delivery.
- Supervise and guide fabrication teams (fitters, welders) on technical aspects of the drawings to minimize rework and scrap.
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement simple productivity improvements on the shop floor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a process equipment manufacturing or heavy fabrication industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with codes like ASME Sec VIII Div 1, TEMA, and API.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; hands-on experience with design software like PV Elite or thermal software like HTRI is a strong advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings instantly.
- Competencies: Sharp attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and strong communication skills to coordinate between office and shop-floor teams.
