Job Summary
The AWS DevOps L3 Engineer will be responsible for providing advanced support, administration, and operational management of Jira platforms hosted on AWS infrastructure. The role requires expertise in cloud operations, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps deployments, incident management, platform upgrades, and production support. The engineer will serve as the highest level of operational escalation, ensuring platform stability, availability, performance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Jira Platform Administration & Support Provide L3 support for Jira applications and associated services. Troubleshoot complex application performance and stability issues. Manage user access, permissions, and project-level security configurations. Resolve project visibility and access-related issues. Ensure high availability and operational stability of Jira platforms. Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes. 2. AWS & Infrastructure Operations Support Jira infrastructure hosted on AWS environments. Monitor and maintain cloud resources to ensure reliability and scalability. Partner with cloud engineering teams to optimize platform performance. Support infrastructure lifecycle and operational excellence initiatives. 3. CI/CD & Deployment Management Manage and troubleshoot deployments using: ArgoCD (GitOps) Jenkins CI/CD Pipelines Bitbucket Repositories Kubernetes (EKS) Clusters Resolve deployment synchronization issues, including ArgoCD out-of-sync conditions. Troubleshoot pipeline failures and deployment bottlenecks. Support release implementation, validation, and rollback activities when required. 4. Kubernetes & Container Platform Support Manage Kubernetes workloads and deployments within AWS EKS environments. Troubleshoot container, pod, networking, ingress, and cluster-level issues. Support capacity planning, performance optimization, and operational health monitoring. Coordinate cluster maintenance and platform upgrades. 5. Major Incident & Problem Management Participate in P1/P2 bridge calls and critical incident response activities. Act as an L3 technical escalation point during AWS or platform outages. Coordinate with engineering, cloud, and application teams during incident resolution. Provide real-time technical updates and recovery status during major incidents. Perform root cause analysis and contribute to problem management activities. 6. Upgrades & Platform Enhancements Lead Jira application version upgrades and platform modernization initiatives. Coordinate Kubernetes/EKS cluster upgrades with cloud teams. Validate application compatibility and performance post-upgrade. Implement platform improvements and automation initiatives. 7. Change & Release Management Support planned production changes and release deployments. Review and validate change implementation plans. Execute pre-change and post-change validation activities. Ensure adherence to change management and governance processes. 8. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management Work closely with Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, and Application teams. Support operational governance meetings and technical reviews. Provide technical guidance to L1/L2 support teams.
