We are looking for a skilled Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join our development team. In this role, you will design, execute, and maintain test suites to ensure our software products meet functional, technical, and quality requirements. You will work directly with developers, product managers, and system architects throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to catch defects early, validate system stability, and verify feature releases.
Role Overview
As a QA Analyst, you will own the quality verification process for our applications. You will review product specifications, create comprehensive manual and automated test strategies, execute test cases, and track defects from initial detection through resolution.
This position requires hands-on technical testing, API validation, database verification, and active participation in Agile development workflows.
Core Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Execution: Review technical requirements and acceptance criteria to design, document, and execute detailed test cases and test suites (functional, regression, system, and integration testing).
- Defect Management: Identify, log, and prioritize software defects in tracking tools (such as Jira or Azure DevOps); provide detailed steps to reproduce, logs, and system states to assist engineering teams in resolution.
- API & Backend Testing: Validate RESTful APIs, web services, and backend systems using tools like Postman, inspecting request/response payloads, status codes, and JSON/XML schemas.
- Data Verification: Write SQL queries to validate backend database states, verify data integrity, and ensure smooth data migration across testing environments.
- Release & Regression Testing: Conduct thorough end-to-end regression testing prior to production deployments to ensure existing functionality remains uncompromised.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog refinement meetings; collaborate with product managers and engineers to refine user stories and clarify acceptance criteria early in the development cycle.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a QA Analyst, QA Engineer, or Software Test Engineer in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- SDLC & Testing Methodologies: Strong understanding of software testing lifecycle methodologies, white-box/black-box testing techniques, and release workflows.
- API Validation: Direct hands-on experience testing REST APIs using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or SoapUI.
- Database Skills: Intermediate proficiency in SQL (writing SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, and conditional queries) to verify data accurately.
- Defect Tracking: Expertise with test management and defect tracking software (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail).
- Technical Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Technical Competencies (Preferred)
- Experience writing or maintaining automated test scripts using frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or PyTest.
- Familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Knowledge of browser developer tools, HTTP header analysis, and network log inspection for troubleshooting UI/API interactions.
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) or equivalent credential.
