Job Description:
We, The Great Builds, are looking for a dedicated and quality-driven Civil Engineer-Site to oversee the day-to-day construction of our high-rise/mid-rise residential apartment project in the Bidar location. In this full-time, site-based role, you will be responsible for translating structural drawings into reality, managing on-site contractors, executing material quality checks, and maintaining strict project timelines. You will serve as our primary technical eyes and ears on the ground, ensuring the project meets premium residential finishing standards while maintaining flawless structural integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Execution & Supervision: Direct day-to-day construction activities on-site, including excavation, RCC framing, shuttering, reinforcement layout, brickwork, and plastering for residential blocks.
- Drawing Interpretation: Accurately read, interpret, and execute architectural, structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and working drawings provided by the design team.
- Contractor & Labor Management: Supervise and coordinate sub-contractors, masons, and labor forces. Monitor daily manpower productivity to prevent schedule delays.
- Quality Control (QC): Conduct routine quality checks on concrete casting, brickwork alignment, waterproofing, and high-end residential finishes (flooring, tiling, and plumbing fixtures). Ensure cube tests and material testing are documented properly.
- Billing & Measurement: Take accurate physical measurements of work completed on-site, verify contractor bills, and check bar bending schedules (BBS) to minimize steel and material wastage.
- Material Inventory: Monitor stock levels of essential building materials (cement, aggregate, sand, TMT steel) on-site and raise timely indents to prevent project standstills.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict on-site safety standards (PPE usage, safe scaffolding, and clean working environments) and ensure work aligns with local municipal approvals and KPWD/RERA guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Location: Must be willing to relocate and work on-site at Bidar, Karnataka. (Knowledge of Kannada or Hindi is highly preferred for smooth local labour management)
- Experience:
- For B.E./B.Tech: 5 years of active site-execution experience.
- For Diploma holders: 5–7 years of site experience.
- Mandatory: At least 5 years of proven experience specifically in residential apartment / multi-story housing projects (G+4 floors or above).
- Software Skills: Basic proficiency in AutoCAD (for checking drawings) and MS Excel (for billing, daily progress reports, and material tracking).
Core Competencies & Skills
- Finishing Knowledge: Strong eye for detail regarding premium residential finishes, plastering levels, tile alignments, and leakage prevention.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot on-site structural or dimensional mismatches quickly without disrupting work momentum.
- Reporting: Diligent in sending detailed Daily Progress Reports (DPR) and weekly milestone updates to the project management team.
Working Conditions & Benefits
