Job Title: Trainee Detailer
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Detailer to join our PEB detailing team. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or candidates at the beginning of their careers who are eager to learn structural steel and Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) detailing. As a Trainee Detailer, you will work closely with experienced detailers to develop your technical skills while contributing to the preparation of detailed drawings and project documentation.
Key Responsibilities1. Drawing Preparation & Detailing Support
- Assist in preparing shop drawings, erection drawings, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings for PEB projects.
- Support senior detailers in creating and updating structural and fabrication drawings using CAD software.
- Learn to interpret engineering drawings, project specifications, and design requirements.
- Assist in making drawing revisions based on internal reviews and client comments.
- Ensure drawings are prepared accurately and follow established quality standards.
2. Learning & Technical Development
- Develop an understanding of PEB structures, steel components, connections, and fabrication processes.
- Learn industry standards, detailing practices, and project workflows.
- Participate in technical training sessions
- Continuously improve CAD drafting and detailing skills.
3. Documentation & BOM Support
- Assist in preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for structural steel components.
- Support the maintenance of drawing records, revisions, and project documentation.
- Help organize project files and ensure proper document control procedures are followed.
4. Team Coordination
- Work closely with senior detailers teams to understand project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding drawing updates and project progress.
- Support project timelines by completing assigned tasks within deadlines.
- Assist in resolving basic drawing-related issues under guidance from senior team members.
Job Requirements & ProficienciesSoftware Skills
- Basic knowledge of CAD software.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other basic office tools.
Technical Knowledge
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings and drafting concepts.
- Interest in structural steel detailing and PEB structures.
- Willingness to learn fabrication and erection detailing practices.
Soft Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to ask questions when needed.
Academic Background & ExperienceEducation
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Freshers are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with up to 1 year of experience in CAD drafting or detailing may also apply.
- CAD training or certification will be an added advantage.
