Job Summary
Annai Fathima College of Arts & Science, Thirumangalam, Madurai, invites applications from qualified, dynamic, and dedicated candidates for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Fire & Safety Management. The ideal candidate should possess strong academic knowledge, practical industry exposure, and a passion for teaching, research, and student development in the field of occupational health, fire prevention, industrial safety, and emergency management.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Fire & Safety Management.
- Prepare lesson plans, study materials, laboratory manuals, assignments, and assessments.
- Deliver theory classes, practical sessions, and safety demonstrations.
- Guide students in projects, internships, industrial training, and career development.
- Conduct research and publish scholarly articles in relevant journals.
- Organize workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, and safety awareness programmes.
- Develop and update curriculum in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in accreditation, quality assurance, and departmental development activities.
- Perform examination duties, student evaluation, and academic administrative responsibilities.
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous learning among students.
Eligibility
- Master's Degree in Fire & Safety Management, Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Disaster Management, or a related discipline.
- NET/SLET/Ph.D. qualification is desirable as per applicable regulatory norms.
- Teaching experience in a higher educational institution is preferred.
- Candidates with relevant industrial experience in manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, safety consulting, or fire protection services will have an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to teaching, research, innovation, and student mentoring.
