We are seeking an Early Childhood Special Educator to support children (ages 2–6) in their most formative years. You will bridge the gap between developmental delays and school readiness by creating a nurturing, high-engagement environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Play-Based Assessment: Evaluate children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through structured play and observation.
* Sensory Integration: Design "sensory-smart" classrooms and activities that accommodate children with sensory processing sensitivities.
* Early Intervention: Implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) or IEPs, focusing on foundational skills like communication, motor coordination, and self-regulation.
* Social-Emotional Coaching: Use storytelling, puppets, and visual schedules to help children navigate transitions and peer interactions.
* Collaborative Care: Work as a bridge between parents and external therapists (Speech, OT, PT) to ensure a consistent approach across home and school.
Working Hours
* Shift: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
* Focus: Includes classroom instruction, snack-time modeling, and afternoon planning/parent coordination.
Qualifications & Skills
* Expertise: Deep knowledge of early childhood pedagogy (e.g., Montessori or Froebel influences) and neurodiversity-affirming practices.
* Certifications: Specialization in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE).
* Attributes: High emotional intelligence, a "child-first" mindset, and the ability to find "magic moments" in small developmental wins.
