Job Summary
The Technical Trainer – Repair & Service is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering technical training programs for service engineers, technicians, and field staff. The trainer will ensure employees possess the necessary technical knowledge and practical skills to diagnose, repair, and service electronic appliances, consumer electronics, IT hardware, or other assigned products while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom and hands-on technical training programs for new hires and existing service engineers.
- Develop training modules, presentations, manuals, SOPs, and assessment materials.
- Provide practical demonstrations on troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, installation, and maintenance procedures.
- Train technicians on product specifications, service processes, safety standards, and customer handling techniques.
- Evaluate trainee performance through tests, practical assessments, and certification programs.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend training interventions to improve technical competency.
- Coordinate with OEMs, product teams, and service operations to stay updated on new product launches and technical changes.
- Maintain training records, attendance, certifications, and performance reports.
- Support field technicians through technical guidance and problem-solving assistance.
- Ensure training facilities, tools, and equipment are maintained and operational.
- Conduct refresher training programs and continuous learning initiatives.
- Monitor training effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, IT Hardware, or a related technical field.
- Certification in repair and servicing technologies is preferred.
- Training certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in repair and service operations.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in technical training preferred.
- Experience in consumer electronics, home appliances, mobile devices, TV laptops, or related products.
Technical Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of repair processes, service procedures, and quality standards.
- Hands-on experience with testing equipment and repair tools.
- Ability to create training content and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
