Job Summary
The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for assessing the nutritional needs of patients, developing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans, providing therapeutic diet counseling, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and applicable quality standards. The role supports patient recovery, disease management, and overall health outcomes through evidence-based nutrition interventions.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
- Conduct nutritional screening and comprehensive nutritional assessments for inpatients and outpatients.
- Develop individualized nutrition care plans based on medical condition, nutritional status, and physician recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress and modify diet plans as required.
- Provide medical nutrition therapy for patients with conditions such as diabetes, renal disease, cardiovascular disease, cancer, gastrointestinal disorders, obesity, and malnutrition.
- Counsel patients and family members regarding therapeutic diets, nutrition management, and lifestyle modifications.
- Participate in multidisciplinary patient care rounds and clinical discussions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of nutritional assessments, interventions, and outcomes in patient medical records.
Food Service & Quality Management
- Coordinate with the dietary services team to ensure prescribed diets are accurately prepared and served.
- Monitor food quality, safety, hygiene, and patient satisfaction related to dietary services.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control practices within the dietary department.
- Assist in menu planning and therapeutic diet standardization.
NABH & Quality Compliance
- Support implementation of NABH standards related to nutrition services and patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, clinical indicators, and departmental meetings.
- Assist in policy development, SOP preparation, and staff training programs.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, statutory regulations, and accreditation requirements.
Education & Training
- Conduct nutrition education sessions for patients, attendants, and hospital staff.
- Participate in continuing education programs and professional development activities.
- Train interns, students, and junior staff as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Food Science, or Clinical Nutrition.
- Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition/Dietetics preferred.
- Registered Dietitian certification (where applicable) preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
