Job Summary:
Lab Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic tests, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of test results while following safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, label, and process patient samples (blood, urine, etc.)
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
- Maintain proper documentation and records of all tests
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Assist doctors in diagnosis by providing test reports
- Monitor stock of lab reagents and supplies
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory
Qualifications:
- DMLT / BMLT or equivalent qualification
- Relevant experience in hospital laboratory preferred
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer knowledge
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
Working Conditions:
- Rotational shifts (including night duty if required)
