Job Summary
The Purchase Executive is responsible for managing day-to-day procurement and sourcing activities for pharmaceutical raw materials, packaging materials, APIs, finished goods, and other essential supplies to ensure timely and cost-effective availability of materials in compliance with quality, regulatory, and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations
- Identify procurement needs and prepare purchase requisitions as per production and inventory requirements.
- Source and evaluate vendors/suppliers for quality, cost, delivery, compliance, and reliability.
- Generate, issue and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, credit, and delivery schedules with suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor delivery status, lead times, and vendors’ performance; maintain vendor records.
- Coordinate with internal departments (Production, QA/QC, Warehouse, Finance) to support procurement planning and material flow.
Inventory Management & Documentation
- Track inventory levels, plan reorder points and help maintain optimum stock levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation, vendor agreements, price lists, and audit trails in ERP or Excel.
- Prepare MIS reports related to purchases, costs, delivery timelines and vendor performance.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory norms, GMP, company policies, and SOPs.
- Engage with QA/Regulatory teams for vendor documentation validation and approvals where required.
- Support vendor qualification and audits when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Science (B.Sc) or related field. Diploma in Supply Chain, or Procurement is an advantage.
- Experience: 2–5+ years of experience in procurement or purchase in the pharmaceutical industry (raw materials, finished goods, APIs/excipients).
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong Communication skills
- Good understanding of pharma supply chain and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP (SAP/Tally) is preferred.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
License/Certification:
- Pharmacist license (Required)
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
