Job Summary
The Store Assistant is responsible for supporting the efficient functioning of the stores department by ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of raw materials, packing materials, engineering spares, consumables, and finished goods. The role requires maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring proper material handling, and coordinating with various departments to support uninterrupted plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming materials and verify them against Purchase Orders, Delivery Challans, and Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs).
- Inspect materials for quantity and visible quality before acceptance and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Store materials systematically using appropriate identification, labeling, and storage practices.
- Issue raw materials, packing materials, consumables, engineering spares, and other inventory items against approved Material Requisition Slips (MRS).
- Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issues, transfers, and stock balances in ERP/software and manual registers.
- Assist in maintaining minimum, maximum, and reorder inventory levels to avoid stock shortages.
- Support daily, monthly, and annual stock verification and physical inventory audits.
- Coordinate with the Purchase, Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Accounts departments regarding material requirements and inventory movement.
- Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expiry, First Out), wherever applicable.
- Monitor storage conditions to prevent material damage, contamination, or deterioration.
- Maintain proper documentation of GRNs, issue slips, gate passes, stock registers, and inventory reports.
- Assist in dispatch-related activities, including material preparation, packing, and documentation, when required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure compliance with 5S practices within the store.
- Follow all safety procedures while handling materials, equipment, and storage areas.
- Report inventory discrepancies, slow-moving items, obsolete stock, and damaged materials to the Store In-charge.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and store efficiency.
- Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Store In-charge or Management.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or any relevant discipline.
- Freshers with good computer knowledge may apply.
- Candidates with 1–3 years of experience in store operations within a manufacturing industry will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and store operations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management software.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Good understanding of stock documentation and inventory records.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work in shifts, if required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the chemical, mineral processing, ceramics, or other manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of raw material handling, engineering spares, packing materials, and finished goods inventory.
- Exposure to inventory audits and stock reconciliation.

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹30,996.82 per month
Work Location: In person
