Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory & Purchasing Officer to join our team. Duties
- Oversee warehouse distribution activities, ensuring efficient stock movement and storage management
- Conduct data mining and analysis using tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Excel to identify trends, forecast demand, and support inventory planning
- Manage procurement processes by sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships to secure optimal pricing and terms
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 and SAP to track inventory levels, process orders, and update records accurately
- Perform root cause analysis on stock discrepancies or supply chain disruptions to implement effective corrective actions
- Coordinate logistics activities including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and materials handling with third-party logistics providers (3PL)
- Lead process improvement initiatives in inventory management, demand planning, and warehouse operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Skills
- Extensive experience in warehouse distribution, warehouse management systems (WMS), and materials handling techniques
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing supplier contracts and sourcing strategies
- Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Excel for data collection, visualization, and financial analysis
- Knowledge of procurement procedures, logistics inventory management, and supply chain analytics
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements within complex supply chain environments
- Familiarity with ERP systems like AS400 or SAP for inventory control and order processing
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to collaborate with merchandising, production planning, shipping & receiving teams
- Technical proficiency in inventory management software, spreadsheets, demand planning tools, and data visualization platforms
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary; experience with forklift operation is a plus
- Strong analytical skills combined with mathematical aptitude for financial modeling and pricing strategies
