Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Infrastructure Physical Connectivity Validation Engineer to support a large-scale infrastructure migration involving approximately 1,000 servers and 1,000 network devices. The primary responsibility is to validate physical connectivity based on approved migration documentation, ensuring all cabling, ports, and hardware connections are correctly installed before migration and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate physical connectivity of servers, network devices, storage, and related infrastructure against approved migration and implementation documents.
- Verify rack locations, device labeling, cable routing, and port-to-port connectivity.
- Confirm network, power, and management connections are correctly terminated and documented.
- Cross-check physical connections with rack elevation diagrams, cable schedules, port mapping documents, and asset inventories.
- Identify and report discrepancies between physical installations and migration documentation.
- Coordinate with data center, server, network, and vendor teams to resolve connectivity issues.
- Support pre-migration, migration, and post-migration validation activities.
- Perform visual inspections of equipment installations and cable management to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Document validation results and maintain accurate records of completed verification activities.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance and migration windows, including after-hours and weekends as required.
- Follow established safety procedures and change management processes while working in data center environments.
Required Skills
- Good understanding of server, network, and storage infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret rack elevation diagrams, cable schedules, port mapping documents, and network topology diagrams.
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards and data center best practices.
- Knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling, patch panels, and transceivers.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to identify cabling and connectivity issues through physical inspection.
- Basic understanding of Ethernet networking and server hardware.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in data center operations, infrastructure deployment, or physical connectivity validation.
- Experience working in enterprise data center environments is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting large-scale data center migration or refresh projects.
- Familiarity with asset management and DCIM tools.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional technical teams.
Work Environment
- On-site work in enterprise data center facilities.
- Willingness to work during planned maintenance windows, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to work in raised-floor data center environments and handle standard rack and cabling activities safely.
Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
