About the Role
Are you a senior Data Engineering leader who has built enterprise-scale data platforms on Google Cloud?
We are looking for a Lead Architect – Data Platform & Engineering to shape and deliver a modern, scalable, cloud-native data platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is ideal for an experienced architect who can combine hands-on technical depth with strategic thinking, enterprise architecture, and stakeholder leadership.
You will lead the design and implementation of a future-ready data platform, drive Data Mesh adoption, build enterprise-grade data products, and enable trusted, self-service analytics for business teams across global domains.
What You’ll Lead
Enterprise Data Platform Architecture
Architect scalable, reusable, and standardized data platform capabilities on Google Cloud to support multiple business units and enterprise analytics needs.
Data Mesh Implementation
Drive domain-oriented data ownership, decentralized governance, and platform-led enablement for Data Mesh adoption across the organization.
Medallion Architecture & Data Products
Lead the design of Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers, with strong ownership of optimized Gold-layer Fact and Dimension models for BI, analytics, and downstream consumption.
BigQuery-Centric Analytics Engineering
Design high-performance BigQuery solutions using partitioning, clustering, workload optimization, cost controls, and query performance tuning.
Enterprise Data Pipelines
Architect resilient, incremental, and scalable data pipelines integrating complex enterprise and financial domain systems with high accuracy and reliability.
Semantic Layer & Self-Service Analytics
Build semantic models and reusable data products that enable trusted reporting, executive dashboards, and AI-ready data foundations.
Governance, Quality & Observability
Embed data governance, automated quality checks, lineage, monitoring, and observability into the platform to ensure trust, compliance, and reliability by design.
Strategic Stakeholder Partnership
Work closely with Domain SMEs, business leaders, engineering teams, and delivery stakeholders to translate business priorities into scalable data architecture.
What You Bring
Experience
10–12 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Cloud Data Platforms, with at least 3–5 years in a lead architect, solution architect, or technical leadership role.
Google Cloud Expertise
Deep hands-on experience with the GCP data ecosystem, especially:
Mandatory: BigQuery
Strong experience: Google Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Composer / Airflow, Pub/Sub
Good to have: Cloud Functions, Data Catalog, governance and observability tools
Architecture Strengths
Strong expertise in enterprise data architecture, data platform design, data products, Data Mesh, Medallion Architecture, semantic layers, and cloud-native engineering patterns.
Governance & Compliance
Experience with data governance, access controls, security, quality frameworks, and compliance needs such as SOX and GDPR.
Leadership Mindset
Ability to influence senior stakeholders, guide engineering teams, define architecture roadmaps, and make practical trade-offs between scalability, performance, cost, and delivery timelines.
