Key ResponsibilitiesMetal & Gemstone Verification: Inspecting gold/platinum purity (via XRF tests or hallmarking verification) and verifying the "4Cs" (Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat) of diamonds and precious stones.Craftsmanship Inspection: Checking that chains, clasps, pins, and hinges function smoothly. Ensuring there are no scratches, sharp edges, missing stones, or uneven plating.Design Alignment: Verifying that the finished product matches the original CAD model and customer specifications.Compliance & Certification: Ensuring all items comply with government regulations (e.g., BIS hallmarking standards in India) and issuing quality certificates to customers.Typical Daily TasksIntake Audits: Approving or rejecting new inventory batches received from vendors.Defect Logging: Documenting defects and preparing Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans to reduce future store returns.Store Support: Assisting retail floor managers by authenticating pieces or checking items before dispatch to customers.Required Qualifications & SkillsExperience: 2 to 7 years in jewellery manufacturing, gemological grading, or luxury goods quality assurance.Technical Skills: Operating digital microscopes, magnifying loupes, and precious metal testing equipment.Certifications: Often requires a diploma or degree in gemology or certifications from recognized institutes like GIA, IGI, or local trade boards
