Tele Counsellor — Student Admissions
Overview
Geeta University, Naultha, Panipat, Haryana is seeking a motivated and articulate Tele Counsellor to join its Branding & Marketing department on a full-time basis. The incumbent will serve as the primary telephonic point of contact for prospective students and their families, providing accurate information about academic programmes, eligibility criteria, fee structures, scholarship opportunities, and the overall admission process. The role demands a target-driven mindset, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine commitment to helping students make informed decisions about their higher education.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make high-volume outbound calls to prospective students sourced from lead databases, enquiry forms, education fairs, and digital marketing campaigns.
- Handle inbound calls from interested students and parents, addressing queries related to programmes offered, admission eligibility, fee structures, and campus facilities in a prompt and professional manner.
- Execute systematic follow-ups via calls, WhatsApp, and email to nurture leads through the admission funnel until enrolment is confirmed.
- Achieve or exceed assigned daily, weekly, and monthly call targets and student conversion quotas set by the department head.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions, lead statuses, and follow-up schedules in the CRM / lead management system.
- Coordinate closely with the Admissions Office to communicate application deadlines, document requirements, counselling appointment schedules, and seat availability.
- Guide prospective students step-by-step through the application, document submission, and enrolment process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
- Participate in virtual webinars, open-house events, and on-campus admission drives as required by the marketing team.
- Prepare and submit daily call reports, pipeline status updates, and weekly performance summaries to the reporting manager.
- Gather feedback from prospective students regarding queries, concerns, and objections, and relay actionable insights to the marketing and admissions teams for continuous process improvement.
- Stay updated on all programme offerings, fee revisions, scholarship schemes, and university achievements to provide accurate information to prospective students at all times.
3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
- Preferred: MBA or postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Mass Communication, or a related field.
Experience
- 0–3 years of experience in tele-counselling, tele-sales, academic counselling, or a related customer-facing role.
- Prior experience in the education sector, particularly in student admissions or academic outreach, will be a significant advantage.
- Freshers with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with CRM software or lead management tools.
- Comfortable with email correspondence and digital communication platforms.
4. PREFERRED SKILLS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong persuasion, negotiation, and objection-handling abilities with the capacity to maintain a positive and empathetic tone throughout conversations.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, manage high call volumes, and consistently meet or exceed performance targets.
- Sound knowledge of CRM platforms and the ability to maintain meticulous lead records with minimum supervision.
- Active listening skills with the ability to understand student concerns, provide tailored guidance, and build rapport over the phone.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and goal-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and professional integrity.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise workload effectively, and adapt quickly to process changes or updated admission guidelines.
7. WORK LOCATION & SCHEDULE

Work Mode: On-Site (Full-Time). Remote or hybrid working is not available for this position.
Working Days: Monday to Saturday (as per University schedule)
