Job Summary
We are looking for a Purchase Executive with experience in railway OHE procurement to manage sourcing, vendor coordination, purchase activities, and material availability for railway electrification projects. The candidate should have knowledge of OHE components, vendor management, and procurement processes to ensure timely supply of quality materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle procurement activities for Railway OHE materials, equipment, and consumables.
- Prepare purchase requests, RFQs, comparative statements, purchase orders, and follow-up documents.
- Source and develop vendors for OHE components and related railway electrification materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers for quotations, negotiations, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials as per project requirements and site schedules.
- Maintain vendor database and evaluate supplier performance.
- Verify technical specifications, drawings, and BOQ requirements before ordering materials.
- Coordinate with project, planning, stores, and engineering teams for material requirements.
- Monitor purchase orders, dispatch status, and delivery tracking.
- Maintain procurement records, MIS reports, and documentation.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through effective negotiation and alternate sourcing.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and railway project requirements.
Required Knowledge of Railway OHE Materials
Candidate should have familiarity with procurement of items such as:
- OHE masts and structures
- Cantilevers and registration assemblies
- Contact wire and catenary wire
- Droppers and clamps
- Insulators
- ATD (Automatic Tensioning Device) components
- Switches and isolators
- Earthing and bonding materials
- Hardware fittings and fasteners
- Railway electrification tools and consumables
Skills Required
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of purchase processes and documentation
- Ability to read BOQ, drawings, and technical specifications
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/SAP purchase modules
- Ability to manage multiple project requirements and deadlines
Qualification
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, or related field preferred.
- Experience in railway electrification/OHE procurement will be an advantage.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
