ROLE
Abja Power is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer – Design & Engineering with strong hands-on experience in Power Plant Engineering, Basic & Detailed Engineering, Design Calculations and Engineering Review. The candidate should be capable of independently handling engineering assignments and coordinating with clients, consultants, EPC contractors and OEMs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and review Basic & Detailed Engineering for power plant and energy projects.
- Prepare/review HMBD/HBD, Heat & Mass Balance, PFDs and P&IDs.
- Perform/review equipment sizing, hydraulic, pressure-drop and other mechanical design calculations.
- Prepare/review equipment datasheets, technical specifications, equipment lists and engineering documents.
- Review GA drawings, equipment layouts, piping layouts and mechanical drawings.
- Conduct engineering review of consultant, EPC and OEM deliverables and ensure compliance with design basis, specifications, codes and standards.
- Carry out technical bid evaluation and review vendor offers and drawings.
- Participate in feasibility studies, concept engineering and technical due diligence.
- Evaluate existing power plants for R&M, retrofit, performance improvement, capacity enhancement and life extension.
- Coordinate with Electrical, C&I, Civil, Piping, Process and Project teams for multidisciplinary interfaces.
- Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, commissioning and troubleshooting.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Experience in Thermal/Gas/Captive Power Plants, CCGT, WHR, Balance of Plant, R&M/Retrofit or Power Plant Relocation will be an advantage. Exposure to Solar/Hybrid Power Projects is desirable.
