Key Responsibilities1. Curriculum Planning and Delivery
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum.
- Teach History, Geography, Political Science/Civics, Economics, and related Social Science topics.
- Prepare annual plans, unit plans, lesson plans, and assessment plans.
- Integrate interdisciplinary connections and real-world applications into classroom teaching.
- Use inquiry-based, discussion-based, experiential, and project-based learning approaches.
2. Student Learning and Engagement
- Encourage students to think critically about historical events, social structures, governance systems, and economic issues.
- Promote active participation through debates, discussions, role plays, simulations, and case studies.
- Develop students' research, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Encourage curiosity about local, national, and global issues.
- Foster awareness of constitutional values, citizenship, and civic responsibilities.
3. Assessment and Evaluation
- Design and conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Prepare question papers, worksheets, assignments, projects, and rubrics.
- Evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
- Support students in improving academic achievement through remedial and enrichment activities.
4. Classroom Management
- Establish a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Maintain discipline and encourage responsible student behavior.
- Ensure effective use of teaching-learning resources.
- Create displays, bulletin boards, maps, timelines, and project exhibits related to Social Science.
5. Integration of Skills and Values
- Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Integrate values of democracy, diversity, inclusion, sustainability, and responsible citizenship.
- Encourage respect for India's cultural heritage and global perspectives.
- Develop environmental awareness and social responsibility among students.
6. Use of Technology and Resources
- Utilize digital tools, maps, GIS resources, documentaries, presentations, and online platforms to enhance learning.
- Integrate current affairs and contemporary issues into classroom discussions.
- Maintain and develop Social Science teaching resources.
7. Parent Communication
- Communicate student progress regularly to parents.
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Address academic concerns and provide guidance for student improvement.
8. School Responsibilities
- Participate in assemblies, educational trips, exhibitions, competitions, and school events.
- Support Model United Nations (MUN), Heritage Clubs, Eco Clubs, Social Science exhibitions, and community outreach initiatives.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the school leadership.
Qualification RequirementsEssential
- Bachelor's Degree with History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, or related Social Science subjects.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
- Strong command of English communication and subject knowledge.
Preferred
- Postgraduate degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or related disciplines.
- Experience teaching CBSE, Cambridge, ICSE, or IB curricula.
- Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning tools.
