Key Responsibilities
- Manage international trading of organic and conventional agricultural commodities.
- Identify and develop new international buyers, importers, distributors and trading companies.
- Identify reliable suppliers, processors and producers for various agricultural commodities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with international buyers and suppliers.
- Source commodities based on quality, specification, availability and price requirements.
- Negotiate purchase and sales prices, payment terms and commercial conditions.
- Analyse international commodity prices, market trends, demand and supply conditions.
- Identify profitable trading opportunities across different international markets.
- Handle enquiries, quotations, offers and commercial negotiations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and buyers to ensure timely execution of orders.
- Coordinate with logistics, documentation, quality and finance teams for smooth shipment execution.
- Understand and negotiate FOB, CIF, CFR and other international trade terms.
- Monitor shipment schedules, documentation, payment status and order execution.
- Maintain an updated pipeline of buyers, suppliers and active trading opportunities.
- Develop new markets and expand the company's international customer base.
- Maintain regular communication with overseas clients and suppliers through email, phone and online meetings.
- Prepare regular reports on sales, purchases, margins, shipments, market opportunities and business pipeline.
- Work closely with management to develop and execute the company's international commodity trading strategy.
Candidate Requirements
- Relevant experience in international commodity trading, agricultural commodities, food commodities or export/import business.
- Experience handling organic and/or conventional commodities is preferred.
- Strong understanding of international buying and selling processes.
- Existing network of international buyers/suppliers will be an advantage.
- Experience in price negotiation and margin management.
- Good understanding of international trade documentation and logistics.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms and export/import procedures.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently develop new customers and suppliers.
- Strong commercial understanding and market-analysis ability.
- Willingness to travel internationally/domestically when required.
Preferred Commodity Experience
Candidates with experience in commodities such as:
Soy Products | Pulses | Grains | Oilseeds | Spices | Organic Food Products | Agricultural Commodities | Food Ingredients | Animal Feed Ingredients
will be preferred.
