The Microbiologist is responsible for conducting microbiological testing and analysis of raw materials, water, environmental samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The role supports the Quality Assurance team in maintaining product safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, water, environmental swabs, and finished products.
- Monitor and verify hygiene and sanitation standards across the production facility.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, testing records, and calibration schedules.
- Prepare and maintain microbiological reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, GHP, FSSAI, and other food safety standards.
- Investigate microbiological deviations and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to ensure product quality and food safety.
- Support internal and external audits related to food safety and quality systems.
- Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives in laboratory and quality systems.
Qualification
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a Frozen Food, Poultry Processing, Meat Processing, or Food Manufacturing Industry.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Microbiological Testing Methods.
- Understanding of Food Safety Management Systems.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, GHP, FSSAI, and ISO 22000 standards.
- Proficiency in laboratory documentation and record keeping.
