Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Academic Technical Writer to join our team. The role involves working on academic projects for students studying at universities in the UK, covering a wide range of subjects and academic levels.
The successful candidate should have strong academic writing, research, analytical, and technical skills and be able to understand university assignment requirements and produce well-structured, original academic content.
Key Responsibilities
- Writing and developing academic reports, assignments, dissertations, and thesis-related documents
- Understanding assignment briefs, marking criteria, learning outcomes, and university requirements
- Conducting literature reviews and academic research
- Collecting, analysing, and interpreting academic and secondary data
- Supporting quantitative and qualitative research projects
- Preparing academic content using appropriate research methodologies
- Working with tools such as SPSS, Excel, Python, R, MATLAB, Power BI, Tableau, or other relevant software where required
- Preparing statistical analysis, tables, graphs, visualisations, and interpretation of results
- Following appropriate academic referencing styles such as Harvard, APA, IEEE, MLA, etc.
- Ensuring proper academic structure, formatting, grammar, coherence, and consistency
- Reviewing and proofreading academic documents
- Understanding and following UK university academic standards and guidelines
- Working according to project deadlines and managing multiple academic projects efficiently
- Communicating with the internal team to understand project requirements and revisions
Required Skills
- Strong academic and technical writing skills
- Excellent English grammar, vocabulary, and written communication
- Good understanding of UK university academic requirements
- Strong research and analytical abilities
- Knowledge of academic research methodologies
- Ability to understand and follow detailed assignment briefs
- Experience with academic referencing and citation
- Ability to interpret datasets, statistical outputs, tables, and graphs
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
- Good time-management and project-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant subject area
- Previous experience in academic writing, research, technical writing, or educational content development
- Experience working on UK university assignments, dissertations, or research projects
- Knowledge of multiple academic disciplines such as Data Science, Computer Science, Business, Management, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, and related fields
- Experience with statistical/data-analysis tools is an advantage
