A Senior Accountant manages daily financial operations, ensures GAAP/tax compliance, prepares financial statements, leads month-end close, reconciles accounts, analyzes data, and often mentors junior staff, requiring strong analytical skills, accounting knowledge (like GAAP, TDS, GST), and software proficiency to maintain financial integrity and support business decisions
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow.
- General Ledger & Reconciliation: Oversee journal entries, reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger, and manage bank/vendor reconciliations.
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Lead and perform complex close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Analysis & Budgeting: Analyze financial data, variances, and trends; assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and tax regulations (like TDS/GST); assist with audits and internal controls.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
- Mentorship: Train, guide, and supervise junior accounting staff.
- Collaboration: Act as a liaison between finance and other departments, supporting management with financial insights.
