Job Summary
The Factory In-Charge will be responsible for overseeing the complete operations of the modular furniture manufacturing unit. The role involves managing production planning, workforce supervision, quality control, inventory management, machinery maintenance, and ensuring timely delivery of products while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Production Management
- Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the scheduled timelines.
- Coordinate with the design and project teams for smooth execution of orders.
- Monitor productivity and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
Workforce Supervision
- Supervise factory staff including machine operators, carpenters, helpers, and supervisors.
- Allocate manpower based on production requirements.
- Conduct daily briefings and monitor employee attendance and performance.
- Train and guide employees on work standards and safety procedures.
Quality Control
- Ensure all products meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct inspections at every stage of production.
- Minimize rework, wastage, and production defects.
- Implement corrective actions to improve product quality.
Material & Inventory Management
- Monitor raw material consumption and maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Coordinate with the purchase department for timely procurement.
- Verify inward and outward movement of materials.
- Maintain stock records and control material wastage.
Machinery & Maintenance
- Ensure proper functioning of all machinery and equipment.
- Schedule preventive maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with service providers for machine repairs and breakdowns.
- Maintain records of machine maintenance activities.
Coordination & Dispatch
- Coordinate with projects, sales, and installation teams regarding production schedules.
- Ensure timely dispatch of finished goods.
- Verify packing standards and loading procedures.
- Track pending orders and provide status updates to management.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with factory safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping within the factory premises.
- Promote safe work practices among employees.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and statutory requirements.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Maintain records of production output, rejection, manpower utilization, and machine downtime.
- Submit performance reports to management.
- Identify operational challenges and recommend improvements.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of modular furniture manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with panel saws, edge banding machines, CNC machines, drilling machines, and assembly operations.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Production planning and scheduling abilities.
- Knowledge of quality control practices.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and production reporting.
