We are looking for an experienced Student Visa Counsellor to support students throughout their journey to study in Australia. The ideal candidate will provide expert counselling on university admissions, visa requirements, documentation, and compliance while ensuring a smooth and successful application process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions to understand students' academic background, career goals, and financial profile, and recommend suitable Australian universities and courses.
- Provide comprehensive guidance on Australian university admissions, eligibility criteria, application procedures, tuition fees, scholarships, and intake deadlines.
- Advise students on the Australian Student Visa (Subclass 500) process, including eligibility, Genuine Student (GS) requirements, financial evidence, health insurance (OSHC), medical examinations, and other visa conditions.
- Review student documents for accuracy and completeness, including academic transcripts, English language test scores, financial documents, Statements of Purpose (SOPs), and other supporting documents.
- Prepare, review, and assist with student visa applications to ensure compliance with Australian immigration requirements and maximize visa success rates.
- Guide students and parents through every stage of the admissions and visa process, addressing queries and providing timely updates.
- Coordinate with Australian universities, education partners, and internal teams to monitor application progress, offer letters, Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), and visa outcomes.
- Follow up with prospective students through calls, emails, and meetings to convert enquiries into successful enrolments.
- Maintain accurate student records, application status, and documentation using the company's CRM or student management system.
- Stay updated on changes in Australian immigration policies, university admission requirements, and education industry developments.
- Ensure all counselling and documentation comply with company policies, Australian education provider guidelines, and relevant immigration regulations.
- Support students with pre-departure guidance, including accommodation, travel planning, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and compliance with visa conditions after arrival.
- Participate in education fairs, webinars, seminars, school visits, and promotional events to generate student leads and promote Australian education opportunities.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Australia Student Visa Counsellor or Education Counsellor.
- Strong knowledge of Australian university admissions and the Student Visa (Subclass 500) process.
- Excellent counselling, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assess student profiles and recommend suitable study pathways.
- Strong attention to detail in reviewing documents and visa applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple student cases.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/student management systems.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage.
