Role Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Tester to join our QA team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, and reliability of our web and mobile applications through structured manual and automated testing, working closely with developers and project teams across the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely feedback.
- Design, write, and execute detailed test cases, test scripts, and test plans for web and mobile applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, UI/UX, and API testing across projects.
- Identify, document, and track bugs/defects using bug-tracking tools; verify fixes through retesting.
- Collaborate with developers, project coordinators, and business analysts to understand requirements and clarify issues.
- Conduct smoke and sanity testing on new builds/releases before deployment.
- Prepare test summary reports and communicate quality status to stakeholders.
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) cycles with clients as required.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, checklists, and testing standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–4 years of experience in manual/software testing for web and/or mobile applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and various testing methodologies (functional, regression, black-box).
- Hands-on experience writing test cases and logging defects using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for backend/data validation.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple test cycles under deadlines.
Good to Have
- Exposure to automation testing tools (Selenium, Appium, or similar).
- Experience testing government/PSU or enterprise-grade applications.
- ISTQB certification.
- Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum development practices.
