We are seeking an energetic and results-oriented Market Development Representative (MDR) to drive pipeline growth by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers within target markets. The MDR will play a critical role in expanding market reach, generating demand, and creating new business opportunities through strategic outreach and market research. This position serves as a bridge between Marketing and Sales, ensuring a steady flow of qualified opportunities into the sales pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis
- Research target industries, companies, and decision-makers to identify new business opportunities.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to support market expansion strategies.
- Maintain awareness of industry developments and emerging market opportunities.
Prospecting & Outreach
- Execute outbound prospecting campaigns through phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other digital channels.
- Engage prospective customers to introduce company products or services and generate interest.
- Develop personalized outreach strategies to maximize engagement and response rates.
Lead Qualification
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospect needs, challenges, and business objectives.
- Qualify leads based on established criteria and determine readiness for the sales process.
- Schedule meetings, product demonstrations, and consultations for the sales team.
Pipeline Development
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to support demand generation initiatives.
- Ensure timely follow-up and nurturing of prospective customers.
CRM Management & Reporting
- Accurately document prospect interactions, activities, and outcomes within CRM systems.
- Track outreach metrics, conversion rates, and pipeline performance.
- Generate reports and provide insights on market development activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing to execute campaigns and follow up on inbound leads.
- Partner with Sales teams to ensure smooth transition of qualified opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support business strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in sales development, business development, lead generation, market development, or a similar role.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct market research and identify business opportunities.
- Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho CRM, or similar.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B sales, SaaS, technology, IT services, consulting, or related industries.
- Familiarity with sales prospecting tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo.io, ZoomInfo, Outreach, or Salesloft.
- Knowledge of lead qualification methodologies such as BANT, MEDDIC, or SPIN Selling.
- Experience supporting market expansion or go-to-market initiatives.
