Finance Officer
Navitas is looking for a financially astute and diligent Finance Officer to support our end-to-end finance operations. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with offshore accounting, and ensuring smooth execution of payroll, GST/VAT compliance, and TDS payments.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and passionate about finance, with a strong eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance in all financial processes.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Scrutinize expense invoices and claims, ensuring accurate processing in line with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
- Manage end-to-end payment processing, accounts payable/receivable, and banking operations, including SA region transactions.
- Maintain accurate financial records, fixed asset registers, and ensure all expenditures are correctly recorded and aligned with forecasts and internal controls.
- Ensure full compliance with tax regulations, including TDS (deduction, deposit, certificates, returns) and GST, in coordination with external advisors.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial operations and audit processes.
- Support preparation of monthly financial reports, management presentations, and assist in budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
- Handle updates of authorized bank signatories and assist with payroll processing and other finance-related administrative tasks.
Contribute to strategic finance initiatives and provide support across cross-functional and operational requirements as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Selection Criteria
Essential
- Professional qualification such as CA / CA Intermediate or equivalent, with 3–4 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and quality of work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Strong self-management, prioritization, and ownership skills with proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Relevant educational industry experience, particularly with the tertiary sector or with entities providing services to international students
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Strong communication skills with excellent command of spoken and written English and Hindi, along with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Solid knowledge of TDS, GST, and other applicable tax regulations with practical understanding of compliance requirements.
- Proficient in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel), with strong data handling and reporting skills.
- Confident presentation and interpersonal skills with a professional, friendly, and collaborative approach.
High integrity with strong attention to detail, patience, discretion in handling sensitive information, and a commitment to accuracy and accountability.
