Role: We are seeking a person with a strong academic foundation in Tribology or related areas to contribute to research, analysis, testing, and technical problem-solving. The role will involve working on lubrication behavior, wear mechanisms, surface interactions, and performance enhancement of engineering components and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct tribological testing and analysis - friction, wear, viscosity, film strength, and lubricity assessment using industry-standard test rigs
- Support formulation and development of lubricants, greases, and cutting fluids for new application areas
- Analyze surface wear mechanisms (adhesive, abrasive, fatigue, corrosive) and recommend appropriate lubrication strategies
- Assist senior engineers in customer site audits, oil analysis, and lubrication management programs (LMP)
- Prepare detailed technical reports, test data documentation, and product performance benchmarks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in product qualification, field testing, and new product launches
- Contribute to research on bio-based and eco-friendly lubricant formulations aligned with sustainability goals
- Support technical sales team with product presentations and application-specific recommendations
Requirements:
Essential -
Currently pursuing or recently completed:
- B.Tech / M.Tech / Dual Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or allied disciplines with specialization/coursework in Tribology
- Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, surface science, and materials engineering
Preferred -
- Hands-on experience with tribology test equipment and/or lubricant characterization during academic projects will be a strong advantage
- Familiarity with ASTM / ISO / BIS standards related to lubricants and tribological testing is desirable
