About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and articulate Assistant Project Manager based in Mumbai to act as the vital bridge between our frontline Senior Project Managers, Sales Representatives in New York, and our internal engineering teams.
This is a fast-paced, coordination-heavy role. You will not just be tracking tasks; you will be the administrative driver ensuring high-end design concepts seamlessly transition into accurate shop drawings, precise quotes, and flawlessly executed project timelines.
The ideal candidate will combine project management skills along with technical knowledge to handle a diverse range of projects in Retail Display Environment, Exhibitions and Events, Furniture and Fixture, Shop Fitouts and Signage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Client Servicing: Develop project plans, set timelines, and allocate resources effectively to meet client objectives and deadlines.
- Outsourcing Coordination: Identify and onboard external vendors (for fabrication and install if required), negotiate contracts, and ensure their work aligns with project requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact between design teams, production floor, install team and clients, ensuring seamless operations whilst assisting the Senior Project Manager.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability without compromising quality.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers, ensuring timely communication and avail competitive pricing.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects meet industry standards, local regulations, and safety guidelines.
What We Are Looking For:
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent preferred along with PMP Certification.
- Experience: 2–3 years of experience in project management / client servicing / Project Coordinator / Account Manager / Client Servicing within the High-end Retail Interior Fit-out, Millwork, Exhibition and Events Industry or any similar role are highly suitable for this role
- Communication: Exceptional written and spoken English. You must be comfortable clearly communicating complex technical requirements to US-based teams and local engineers alike.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret architectural shop drawings, and technical specifications. Proficient in MS Excel and Project Management tools.
- Personality: A natural administrator. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, possess thick skin, and know how to assertively drive timelines across different teams without compromising relationships.
