About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and strengthen UMEED's operational excellence, organizational growth, and program delivery. Working closely with the Co-Founders, the COO will translate strategic vision into scalable execution while ensuring operational rigor, financial stewardship, team development, and stakeholder engagement.
This role is ideal for a leader who combines strong operational expertise with a passion for social impact and gender equity.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive organizational strategy, operational planning, and growth initiatives.
- Oversee execution and quality of UMEED's flagship programs.
- Strengthen systems, processes, SOPs, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Lead budgeting, financial planning, compliance, and resource optimization.
- Build and nurture a high-performance, values-driven organizational culture.
- Oversee talent management, performance systems, and team development.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with donors, CSR partners, and government stakeholders.
- Support fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and external representation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Policy, Social Work, Development Studies, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership or operations role.
- Strong experience in organizational management, project execution, budgeting, and compliance.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex operations.
- Passion for gender equity, women's empowerment, and social sector impact.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of the NGO/development sector is highly preferred.
