Used Car Evaluator / Pre-Owned Vehicle Inspection Expert
Role Overview
A Used Car Evaluator is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and determining the fair value and condition of pre-owned vehicles before purchase, resale, or certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complete vehicle inspections (engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, electricals)
- Evaluate vehicle history (accidents, service records, ownership)
- Identify signs of accidents, repainting, rust, or flood damage
- Conduct test drives to assess performance and drivability
- Check engine health, emissions, and live data readings using diagnostic tools
- Estimate market value and resale price
- Prepare inspection reports with recommendations
- Assist buyers/sellers in negotiation based on findings
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of automobile systems (mechanical + electrical)
- Ability to detect hidden issues or fraud (meter tampering, code clearing)
- Good analytical and reporting skills
- Basic computer/mobile app usage for diagnostics
Qualifications
- Diploma/ITI in Automobile Engineering OR
- Experience as a mechanic, service advisor, or car inspector
- Certification in automotive diagnostics (preferred)
Experience
- 1–5 years in automobile service, inspection, or used car industry
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
